Hoboken Course

John Wiley & Sons

John Wiley & Sons

All lectures and exercise sessions will be held in the conference area at John Wiley & Sons, 111 River Street, Hoboken, New Jersey.  The building faces Pier A Park on the Hudson River, just across from Manhattan Island.  Lunches and breaks will be provided during the course.

Travel to Hoboken

Hoboken is served by three major airports, Newark Liberty International, LaGuardia, and John F. Kennedy International, in order of distance from Hoboken.  More information on the airports and distances may be found here.  The best way to travel from the airports is by taxi, Uber, or Lyft.  Public transportation is available, but it is very time consuming.

Hoboken is part of the New York City (NYC) Metropolitan Area, despite being in New Jersey.  As such, rail service is available for travel to NYC and is served by Amtrak.  As NYC is the financial center of the US, there are many train routes to the city.

Driving is difficult in the area, and parking is not available at the Wiley site.

Accommodations and Travel in the Area

There are numerous options available in the Hoboken area and these can be found on booking sites.  Many hotels are within walking distance of the venue.

While it may be tempting to stay in the metropolitan area, as it offers a wide selection of accommodations, that may not be the best choice.  There are more hotels in Manhattan, although travel to Hoboken from Manhattan may be slow particularly at rush hour.  There is a train service, PATH, that goes from 33rd Street to Hoboken or from the World Trade Center to Hoboken.  The website lists 15 to 25 minute travel times, but we have been told that this is often overly optimistic. The Port Authority has a bus that goes to Hoboken, and they claim 10 minutes travel time.  As they use the roadways, this goal is often not met.  The same delays are true for the subway and taxis.
